Hammock was started in 2008 and worked on intermittently over seven years. It was made by hand with industrial communication cables using traditional bobbin lacemaking techniques and 40 custom made steel bobbins. In Montreal, the installation was the central scenographic object for the multi-media production, Princess Agnus Dei. In Regina, Hammock was installed to accommodate the site specific parameters of the Mackenzie Art Gallery. In this context, Hammock was used for an original performance by Femme5 (Robin Poitras, Johanna Bunden, Krista Solheim, Helen Pridmore and Astrid Lloyd). The installation and performance were presented by New Dance Horizons and Mackenzie Art Gallery in the exhibition and performance festival: Re-celebrating the Body.
